FAI Quality Inspector

A 3 MONTH CONTRACT ROLE opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality/FAI Inspector in the Derby area.

Working a 39 hour 5-day week, wages will be weekly paid. Umbrella hourly rates advertised here.

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and organised Quality/FAI inspector to perform physical inspections of machined aerospace parts, using hand gauges, micrometers, verniers, etc.

Previous experience of creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with relevant standards would be advantageous, and may see more responsibilities given in this area, freeing up other colleagues to perform the end of line inspections. The ideal candidate will support quality assurance efforts across product development and manufacturing to ensure conformance to customer and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Awareness of AS/EN 9102 Standard
• Inspection of machined components to tight tolerances, using hand metrology tools.
• CMM experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Exposure to FAIRs for aerospace components in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements is beneficial.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply chain to provide data and documentation for FAIRs.
• Ensure proper documentation of part revisions, drawing specifications, and traceability.
• Submit organised records and logs of all FAIR activity for audit readiness.
• Support the organisation in resolving issues that arise from FAIR compilation
• Interface directly with operations, suppliers and stakeholders to achieve internal and customer expectations.
• Fully conversant with AS1900 and AS9102 requirements for FAI.
• Utilise continuous improvement tools and methodology to increase efficiency and right first time within the FAI process.

Experience of working with in inspecting aerospace parts previously is essential, and a familiarity with aerospace standards including AS/EN 9102 and customer-specific quality clauses.

The role is for someone with an excellent can-do attitude, who is able to organise their own workload, and has a flexible attitude.

Qualifications Required

£28.00 – £30.00 per hour
