Toolmaker
Are you an experienced Toolmaker looking to join an established presswork company in the Oldbury/West Bromwich area in a permanent role?
The job is working on a rotating 3 shift basis, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (including paid lunch).
Presses range from 50 to 400 tonne and press tool knowledge within this range is essential.
Duties of the position include working on the repair and maintenance of press tools, and occasionally setting the tooling into power presses. Stripping and rebuilding machine tools for maintenance, repair and re-grind.
Key Tasks:
• Manufacture tooling elements to exacting tolerances and the required quality.
• Liaise with production and contribute to the resolution of tooling issues
• Operate machinery and work in a manner that complies with health & safety requirements
• Prioritising own work load
• Ensuring that all necessary records are produced and maintained.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and assist in the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment
• Familiar with all domestic tool room duties.
Candidates must be a time-served toolmaker with good manual bench skills and ideally have experience of operating a range of precision equipment including surface grinders, jig grinders, borers, lathes etc.
5 years experience in a similar role is the desired minimum experience. Overtime available paid at enhanced rates.
