ROLE: Stores Supervisor
LOCATION: Commutable from Wolverhampton, Cannock, Walsall, Telford and surrounding areas
SALARY: £37,217

Purpose of the Role:

Supervise and direct the activities of the Stores team responsible for receiving, shipping, onsite and offsite material warehousing, production support, inventory control and overall management of Stores to maximize productivity including storage and delivery activities for the site. This position is accountable for the effective and efficient day-to-day operation of the Stores department and accurate record keeping of materials stored in the warehouse.

Principle Accountabilities:

Supervise the daily activities and staff required to receive, ship, store and package stock with
emphasis on positive employee relations and in accordance with Company policies, procedures and customer specifications.

Organizes and plans the receipt, warehousing, movement and shipment of materials to satisfy financial, quality, safety and on-time delivery requirements.

Insure materials are picked, kitted and delivered to production in a timely manner to insure excellent internal and external customer service is maintained. Identify ways to improve productivity of the stores staff.

Maintain inventory accuracy targets on stored and WIP Stores. Keep accurate physical and transactional inventory and accounting records at all times. Set inventory standard work goals with the objective of timeliness and accuracy. Audit and assist in reconciling inventory errors and receiving or
shipping discrepancies.

Provide leadership in selecting, developing, coaching and evaluating employees to ensure the efficient operation of the Stores Department. Respond promptly to employee concerns and/or complaints, elevating matters if needed.

Provide direction and support to all personnel and manage process flow within department.

Conduct formal performance evaluations for employees to assess and improve performance. Monitor/track employee performance based on expectations administering corrective or disciplinary action when required. Develop employees by training, cross-training, and providing continuing education opportunities.

Prepare work schedules and assignments for employees according to production schedule
requirements. Develop procedures, work instructions and training to insure safety and quality requirements are maintained.

Establish and maintain the Cycle Counting Program to audit and continuously improve record accuracy. Publish measurements of group’s customer service and productivity levels.

Insure that stores employees are working safely and are following safety procedures. Be diligent and know your role and responsibilities for training employees on power equipment such as fork trucks. Conduct all accident investigations involving assigned employees in a timely and thorough manner.

Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Stores Department by acting as a
liaison between production personnel and other departments to gain information, resolve problems, and enhance relations.

Personal Characteristics:

• Proven experience in a senior stores role with increasing levels of responsibility or other relevant function.
• Degree qualified within Supply Chain, Business or Technical Engineering disciplines or equivalent
• Professional Supply Chain certification
• Active lean leadership experience
• Ability to establish credibility with business counterparts
• Experience managing or leading projects or programmes
• Possess excellent leadership, people management, influencing and communication skills
• Excellent numeracy skills – financial analysis and business acumen, must be data driven
• Ability to work effectively with a variety of cultures and people styles/personalities
• Ability to work without clear direction on ambiguous settings with minimal direct management
• Strong conflict management skills
